Pollitt, P.C. are looking for a full-time paralegal comfortable working in a complex financial divorce litigation practice.  Because we deal primarily in complex, high-level financial and valuation issues, experience in family law is a plus, but it is not required; we would consider complex commercial and civil litigation experience as well. While we focus on protecting and preserving our clients’ legal rights, we insist on doing so ethically, honestly and professionally, in an environment that furthers our clients’ long-term interests during the life transitions they are experiencing.

 

We are looking for a candidate who is detail-oriented and thrives working in a collaborative environment, which can sometimes be rather vibrant, particularly during trial. The candidate must feel comfortable communicating professionally with the Court, Court staff, opposing counsel and clients, both verbally and in writing. They must be able to navigate the Arizona Rules of Family Law Procedure (familiarity with the Civil Rules and an ability to command the Family Law Rules would be acceptable) and they must be capable of conducting Lexis legal research, state and county public database research and carefully docket discovery and trial deadlines. We generate high-volume discovery and disclosure so superior organization, document management and analytical skills are required.

Job Duties:

  • Draft pleadings and participate in court hearings related to the sale or occupancy of real property;
  • Researching real estate records and assisting in the valuation of properties;
  • Showing properties to potential buyers, upon licensure; 
  • Opening escrows and proactively tracking transactions through to closing, through agent, title, lender, and client interface;
  • Responding to prospective buyer/agent inquiries, upon licensure;
  • Presenting offers and negotiating (upon licensure) contract terms;
  • Completing Marketing Reports;
  • Performing property intake and property checks;
  • Managing internal and external listing communications and schedules, including status reports, and audit functions to ensure information is complete, timely, and accurate; and
  • Creating /editing easy template flyers, e-blasts, and other marketing materials to promote listings;

Litigation Paralegal

We are looking for an experienced construction litigation paralegal to join our team. This position works closely with the construction law department attorneys and assists in all phases of litigation, which may include document management, legal and case related research, drafting legal documents, utilizing litigation support software and client interactions.

 

Duties include:

 

  • Assist attorney with case and/or project management
  • Use litigation support software, trial preparation software, or on-line document repositories as required
  • Monitor case or project and follow up with attorney on any outstanding matters
  • Able to read, comprehend and synthesize large volumes of data
  • Responsible for finding and keeping track of facts relevant to case(s)
  • Prepare statements of facts and case-related timeline
  • Conduct research, including legal research, research/investigation of facts and any general client-related research/investigation using databases, on-line resources, and Westlaw
  • Document management, to include organizing and indexing documents chronologically, numerically and/or by subject matter, via electronic database and/or hard file
  • Respond to discovery requests
  • Prepare and coordinate document productions
  • Help attorney prepare for depositions by gathering and preparing documents relevant to deponent, as well as providing attorney with any helpful information
  • Assist attorney with motions, to include, draft initial motion, pull relevant documents, organize exhibits and create document indexes in preparation of motion filing
  • Search for and obtain needed expert witnesses
  • High level of reading comprehension and ability to understand facts of the case
  • Ability to draft documents and client correspondence
  • Proficiency in MS Suite, Perfect Law, I-manage, Eclipse SE and/or Relativity and Trial Director.
  • Experienced in task-based billing
  • Exercise excellent critical thinking skills and good judgment
  • Produce accurate work with keen attention to detail
  • Prioritize and use time efficiently
  • Be comfortable and capable of learning new technology
  • Work independently
  • Support multiple attorneys with various working styles
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma and/ paralegal certificate from an accredited institution and/or Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with e-discovery programs including Eclipse and/or Relativity
  • High level of skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Excellent grammar skills, to include, punctuation and spelling
  • Must have a minimum of three years recent Arizona litigation paralegal experience in construction law
  • Must possess good judgment
  • Meticulous attention to detail
