Enjoy First Fridays in Downtown Phoenix

downtown phoenix for first fridays

On the first Friday of every month, from 6pm-10pm, Downtown Phoenix comes together to put on a night known as First Fridays. During this night, shops, galleries, museums, and restaurants are open, offering special deals for the night. It is a fantastic way to enjoy the weather while exploring all downtown Phoenix has to offer.

Event locations stretch from Jefferson Street to McDowell Rd, from 15th avenue to 3rd street. This event area holds many fabulous shops, galleries, museums, and restaurants with special offers only available on First Fridays. The museums are all open for free for the hours of First Friday (evening), The Nash and Civic Center park usually have free music shows, and food truck opportunities are plentiful. The Japanese Friendship Garden is also open to walk through for free. On top of all of these attractions, most art galleries in this district open their doors to the public, allowing walkthroughs and art purchases. Particularly enjoyable is the Arizona Science Center’s Adult’s Night Out on First Fridays. During this time, 5pm-9pm, the center is ages 18+ only, and adults are free to explore while a DJ plays. The science center also sets up a cash bar to increase the fun.

First Fridays happens every month, and is a great way to explore downtown Phoenix in all of it’s glory. For a map, more information, or to answer specific questions, visit the organizer’s website, Artlink.
