While Phoenix continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in the country, many still consider Arizona to be the land of the Wild Wild West – and for good reason. From donkeys sleeping in bathtubs to hunting camels, Arizona has some of the strangest and most out of date laws in the United States. Below are 15 of the strangest Arizona laws.

1.  It is illegal to walk through a hotel lobby while wearing spurs.

2. One may not play card games with a Native American in the Street .

3. If one is caught stealing soap, one must wash oneself with it until is completely used up.

4. It is illegal to swim in a public place while wearing a bathing suit.

5. Any misdemeanor committed while wearing a red mask in considered a felony.

6. It is illegal to use any waste from a junkyard or dump site to stuff a mattress.

7. In Prescott, AZ, riding a horse up the stairs of the county courthouse is illegal.

8. Any restaurant that sells horse meat must have a warning label in green print on their menu.

9. It is illegal to leave a fishing pole unattended.

10. According to the law in Tucson, it is illegal for women to wear pants.

11. It is against the law to refuse a person a glass of water.

12. It is illegal to feed swine without a permit.

13. When one is being attacked by a burglar or criminal, one may only use the same weapon as one is being attacked with to protect oneself.

14. It is illegal to manufacture imitation cocaine.

15. In Tombstone, AZ, it is illegal for anyone over 18 years of age to have less than one missing tooth visible while smiling.
